Job Summary:
We are looking for an experience Tool maker to perform work of a highly complex nature in the Machine Shop in an efficient manner to achieve a desired quantity and quality of work.
Essential/Key Functions:
Performs all operations in the Machine Shop under the general direction of the Manager.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment in his/her assigned work area.
Responsible for all processes, equipment, safety and housekeeping in his/her assigned work area.
Meets or exceeds the quality and quantity standards on each operation.
Adheres to all company policies and rules.
Assists new operators as required.
Works harmoniously with all other employees, and assists in resolving any complaints or questions in his/her work area.
Keeps his/her leadperson informed of any problems in his/her area that require attention.
Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods and elimination of wasteful practices within the area.
Performs other duties as required or directed to meet corporate or departmental objectives.
Position Requirements
Minimum (Required) Qualifications:
Must be able to operate common machine tools, i.e., lathes, grinders, mills, etc., to make complex parts from blueprints to close tolerances and finishes efficiently. Tolerances to .0001 inch and finishes to 4 micros.
Ability to use calipers, micrometers and other measuring devices to within +/- .0001 inch and have a good command of shop mathematics.
Ability to interpret detailed technical drawings or blueprints.
Ability to meet or exceed, on a sustained basis, the quality and quantity standards already established on all processes and equipment in the Machining Department.
Must have sufficient communication skills to comprehend verbal/written instructions of a complex and/or detailed nature. Must be able to effective communicate verbally, and in writing, in order to respond to questions by management regarding the work assignment.
Employee may be occasionally exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, elevated temperature of hot or cold work area, risk of shock and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, painting etc.

Physical Demands:
Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, talk, hear, taste or smell. Vision requires close focus, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and focus adjustment.

Must be able to lift or move up to 50lbs.
